Mission Statement

Our mission at Help Is On The Way Today is to raise and distribute funds to NYC based organizations that support children and young adults living with HIV/AIDS; particularly, those with little or no medical coverage and/or financial support. We accomplish this mission, by producing events that promote awareness and raise funds.

Our vision is that organizations like Help Is On The Way Today are no longer necessary; due to our work, children and young adults living with HIV/AIDS will be self sufficient, never denied support and living productive lives.

A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER

I would like to share a story with you about a little boy named David.

I was putting together an annual holiday toy and gift drive to help children living with HIV and AIDS. A friend referred me to a home called The Incarnation Children's Center in Washington Heights. There I had the opportunity to meet an amazing young boy named David. He was living at The Incarnation Childrens Center and I was to find out that he was HIV positive and that he also had Cerebral Palsy.

David was in need of a new motorized wheelchair and after putting through the necessary paperwork Medicaid refused David his chair. Hearing this story I was outraged. I decided I would produce a show to help get this wheelchair. On February 5, 2005 I produced DIVAPALOOZA 2 an evening where we raised enough money to buy David his new chair.

I thought there may be other children in similar situations and in need of help, so I decided to start my own non-for-profit organization called Help Is On The Way Today. The organization was founded to help and assist children/youths in the tri state area who are living with HIV and AIDS.  I am pleased that we have continued to help David and other children through our work and outreach.

Sincerely with Love,

Joseph
