Every year Help Is On The Way Today recognizes one exceptional person who has given so much of themselves personally and professionally through presentation of the Spirit Award. Here are the past recipients of our Highest Honor.

        Ruth Kurtzman

In 2012 Help Is On The Way Today decided to give a Lifetime Achievement Award to someone who has contributed to the Cabaret World. The first person to receive this award was Marilyn Maye, who without question is Cabaret.

This year our organization decided to change the name of this award from Lifetime Achievement Award to The Ruth Kurtzman Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Ruth Kurtzman, whose love for Cabaret and what it stood for goes unsurpassed. She was an amazing person and a respected by all in the community. Ruth was a huge supporter and volunteer of Hel Is On The Way Today.

In 2013 The Ruth Kurtzman Lifetime Achievement Award went to Peter Leavy for all his contributions to the preservation of Cabaret in New York City.
